Affiliate marketing has several popular integration methods. One of them is Postbacks. Postbacks are one of the useful features that can make working more convenient, and today, we will tell you how.

The Postback is a mechanism for transferring data from an affiliate program to a third-party tracking solution. Postbacks allow affiliates to instantly receive information about the user’s actions, while merchants and networks can easily integrate with each other through it.

Postbacks on the HOQU platform

Postbacks in the application for affiliates

As a rule, the affiliate works simultaneously with several affiliate networks. And browsing around in different affiliate programs to view the statistics of all campaigns is inconvenient to say the least. To avoid this, you can assemble all the statistics in one place — in a third-party tracker. In this case, the postbacks will serve as “intermediaries” that organize the automatic transmission of statistics from the HOQU platform.

The advantages of Postbacks for affiliates:

1. There is no need for constantly monitor statistics, since all the statistics will be displayed in your tracker in real time.

2. The ability to receive more in-depth analysis of statistics and optimize campaigns. You can receive information, such as the number of goals achieved, the conversion of advertisements and key requests, and a lot of other useful data.

3. The ability to manage your advertising campaigns in one tracking solution and get all the data about conversions.

The addition of new postbacks is carried out in the Integration section →Postbacks on the Add Postback button. Fill in all the fields in the window that appears to add a postback:

  • Select the offer of the network you are a member of or the campaign;
  • Select the status of the lead you want to receive by postback;
  • Select the type of request;
  • Specify the Postback URL. This link is provided by a third-party platform / tracker, and the conversion data will be sent there. Link format: http://example.io
  • Use the field with macros in order to insert some parameter values into a third-party tracker.

Postback configuration macros are special variables in the form of small codes that are assigned to a link and help track traffic by certain parameters.

To find out what the macro is responsible for, hold the mouse cursor over the question mark next to the macro.

Click Save or Test.

The data about the postbacks of affiliate can be viewed in the Integration Postbacks section. Technical details of sending postbacks to the server are in the Logs section.

Postbacks in the application for networks

In the case of a network, the HOQU tracker exchanges data between the tracker server and the merchant’s server that is integrated with the tracker. Postbacks arriving at the network server are incoming postbacks. Those sent to the merchant’s site server are outgoing postbacks.

Advantages of postback integration for networks and merchants:

1. Accuracy of statistics: The transfer of data on the conversion status via the server-to-server method minimizes the possibility of errors.

2. Time savings: there is no need to confirm or reject conversions manually in your account (the transition of the status from one to another, for example, click → lead).

3. The possibility of receiving in-depth analysis of incoming traffic and its optimization.

Networks can monitor Incoming & Outcoming postbacs logs in the Logs section of the app. Publisher can also monitor logs in their app to make sure the data is correct.
