We know how difficult it is sometimes for arbitrageurs and affiliates, especially beginners, to choose an offer.

An offer — is the terms that a merchant offers to work with, and the terms for the fulfillment of which he is willing to pay.

It is logical that the conditions on which you are offered to cooperate should be suitable for you, and this applies to everything, not only to affiliate marketing. In the case of the offer, you need to analyze a considerable number of parameters, so it is sometimes difficult for affiliates, especially beginners, to choose the right ones.

For this reason, we decided to share some tips that will be especially relevant for those who are just starting on their journey in affiliate marketing:

What to look for when choosing an offer

  1. Let us start with the obvious: pay attention to the specifics of the product and its target audience (hereinafter — TA).

If you place promoted links on your channels, it is logical to assume that the more matches there are among the target audience, the product that you are promoting, and your audience, the more chances you have of getting a reward.

In general, we recommend choosing a topic that you are well-versed in, this will help reduce the time spent on studying the target audience.

2. Pay attention to the complexity of the action that a potential client must perform in order for you to receive a reward.

You can learn more about how such a “payment scheme” for customer actions works in this article:

As a rule, the more complex the action, the greater the reward. However, it is more difficult to fulfill the conditions of such an offer. Just leaving your email in the form is much easier than downloading a game and making purchases in it.

We recommend beginners to choose offers with a simpler targeted action, such as an application, subscription or registration. The reason is faster leads.

3. Check the relevance and seasonality of the product in wordstat.yandex.ru and Google Trends. The simplest logic: the less demand for a product, the more difficult it is to “sell” it.

It is unlikely that advertising of inflatable pools will be relevant in the winter. However, there may be a certain number of people who want to buy a pool during off-season and expect a discount.

4. Before taking on an offer, do not be lazy and take a look at the merchant’s promoted website / landing page. Its quality can significantly affect the conversion of your traffic. Even if you manage to attract a sufficient number of interested visitors, both design and inconvenient navigation can drive them away.

5. Keep track of cookie time.

Cookie time is the number of days during which the user will be assigned to you. When the user first arrives at the merchant’s website using the link above, a cookie is set in their browser. If a user visits the site repeatedly before the cookie has expired (even if it is not already on your link), and then performs the target action, you will be rewarded for it.

6. Hold time.

The hold time is the painful period during which the merchant makes a decision of whether approve your lead or reject it. After the hold time expires, the leads are confirmed automatically.

Accordingly, the smaller it is, the less is the expectation of accrual of remuneration.

7. Take a look at the statistics of the offer.

If the offer has been in the “active” status for some time, then the affiliate has the opportunity to first look at the statistics of the offer (Offers -> click on the More button or the name of the offer).

Immediately below the offer logo, the Approved line displays the ratio of leads approved by the merchant to all leads attracted over the past week.

8. Geography of the offer.

This is a very important point to note, because the audience for which you will be working may not match the geography of the audience for which the merchant’s landing page is working.

A simple example is when buying goods on a landing page, delivery is carried out within Europe, and the customer you attracted to the landing page is a resident of one of the Asian countries. Like it or not, all your efforts will be in vain.

Important notice!

If you still chose the offer of another country and are not a native speaker of that country’s language, then we recommend that you use the language of the country of your choice for successful work with the offer. A huge advantage for you will be knowledge of a specific language.
